ODAC NY Hosts Second Youth Advocacy Month (YAM)
Organ Donation Awareness Corporation (ODAC) is an undergraduate-run, student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City that is dedicated to educating youth on the importance of organ donation. In May 2023, ODAC launched Youth Advocacy Month (YAM), which aims to foster youth involvement and bring awareness to youth-led nonprofit organizations’ hard work and passion. In addition, the organization seeks to highlight various advocacy groups and individuals who have had a role in organ donation.
ODAC Attends Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U)
The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) hosted its annual meeting from March 3rd to March 5th, 2023 at Vanderbilt University. The first in-person iteration of the conference since 2019, students were welcomed from across the country to visualize solutions to pertinent global challenges. ODAC applied and was selected to participate; Chirag Ram, Alexander Fraser, and Diya Cherian attended the conference as the first part of a year-long mentorship program featuring CGI U alumni.
ODAC Boosts Registration Through “Donuts for Donation”
Organ Donation Awareness Corporation hosted a tabling event on January 2nd, 2023 in New York City where current organ donors and new donors who just signed up were given a donut. This event took place in Manhattan on the Upper West Side in Verdi Square earlier this month from 5pm to 7pm.
